Make a Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others--a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place the fourth Saturday in October.

 

United Way's Volunteer Center partners with local organizations to bring this event to Portage County with the Make A Difference Day Rake-A-thon. In 2006, more than 420 volunteers from UWSP, schools, families, scout troops, community service organiations and businesses raked 110 yards for the elderly and disabled.

If you are or know an indvidual in Portage County that could use their yard raked on October 27th because they have a disability or are elderly please fill out and submit the form  REGISTER MY YARD
