Agencies in Waushara and Marquette counties that provide food and shelter services can now apply for nearly $23,000 in funds available from United Way.

Applications are available above and must be submitted electronically by 3 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2016. A committee of volunteers from both counties will review the applications and determine allocations to programs that focus on providiing emergency food and shelter to residents of Marquette and Waushara counties.

United Way of Portage County, which serves Waushara and Marquette counties, collected funds designated during campaigns in 2014 and 2015.

In determining the largest needs of the counties, members of the allocations committee decided to focus on basic needs specifically related to food and shelter services. Approximately $18,371 will be available for agencies that focus on those needs in Waushara County and approximately $4,547 will be available to Marquette County agencies.

Staff from United Way of Portage County, Waushara County Human Services, and Marquette County Human Services are assisting the committee during the allocations process.
