On Sunday, November 29, Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers of Portage County will celebrate those who generously give of their time to help others enjoy independence and dignity with a community concert. The 13th Annual Prepare Ye Concert: A Community Celebration of Thanks will be held 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at St. Bronislava Parish in Plover (3200 Plover Rd). The public is invited to attend this musical celebration. A free will offering will be collected during the concert and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will provide a 50% match for all monies donated up to $1,600.
The Interfaith Combined Choir will present “Lessons and Carols,” with musical selections from the Bach Cantata 61. The combined choir will feature voices from Wisconsin Master Chorale, Trinity Lutheran Church, First Congregational U.C.C. (WI Rapids) and St. Peter’s Schola Cantorum. Other special music will be provided by Faith Lutheran Church (Rosholt), Very Special Arts Choir, St. Peter’s Schola Cantorum, Wisconsin Master Chorale and Interfaith Children’s Choir.
November is National Family Caregivers month, and Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers celebrates the committed volunteers who provide transportation, friendly visits, time away for Alzheimer’s caregivers, assistance with daily living skills, snow removal and so much more. For many elderly and disabled people in Portage County, these volunteers play a critical role in helping them remain independent and connected to their community.
