Even small fundraisers like the ones below can make a big difference! They help United Way of Portage County support programs that improve the lives of thousands of people in our community—by creating a Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, and boosting Financial Stability!

Examples of FUN-draisers:

Basket Auction

It’s time to bring your creativity, teamwork, and competitive spirit to the table. Invite your department to sponsor, design, and fill a themed gift basket — think spa day, chocolate indulgence, golf lover’s dream, culinary delights, or anything your team can dream up!

Coin War

Set up large empty water bottles for each department in a central location. Employees drop their spare change into the bottle. Coins are positive while paper money is negative--so feel free to sabotage the competition! The group with the highest point value wins. All cash collected is donated to United Way!

Root Beer Float Day!

Point Brewery is offering complimentary root beer to campaign teams—up to a set quantity—with the option to purchase additional cases at a significantly discounted rate. This is a great opportunity to add a fun, memorable touch to your campaign events! Contact Katie at Katie@unitedwaypoco.org for more information.

Potluck Payoff

Turn lunch into a feast for a cause! Host a potluck where everyone brings their favorite dish to share. Come hungry and enjoy a delicious variety of homemade eats — all proceeds go to support United Way! Just chip in a small donation to fill your plate and support our fundraising efforts.

Chili Cookoff

Calling all chili champs! Invite employees to cook up their best chili recipe and compete for top honors. A panel of “expert” judges will taste and decide the winner — or let everyone vote for their favorite! For a small donation, staff can sample all the entries and enjoy a hearty lunch, all while supporting United Way!

Lend a Hand!

At United Way of Portage County, we do our homework to provide a voice for our neighbors in need. Through your support, we bring people and resources together to achieve measurable results that improve people's lives and strengthen our community. Funding decisions are determined by an all-volunteer group of community members known as Community Solution Teams. These teams are tasked to identify and serve the most current, critical needs of our community's most vulnerable populations.

Every day somewhere in our community, someone needs help. Some are students who need learning assistance. Others are parents struggling to provide food and a safe environment for their families. In order to meet the need of our community, United Way runs an annual campaign. Our campaign is made up of corporate gifts, employee giving, and individual giving. You can give online or print off a 2025 pledge form and mail in your gift. You can also choose to volunteer your time.

NOTE TO CAMPAIGN COORDINATORS - the Packers Organization does not guarantee what type of item you will receive. While they are currently donating a football - that that could change depending on their inventory and on the time of year that the donation is requested.

To submit a request for a donation for your upcoming United Way Campaign, go to the following website: www.packers.com/community/donations.html

1. Under the heading Requesting Donations click on “Start a new in-kind donation.”

If you are a New applicant or Never used the online system, you should click "New Applicant? Click here to create account." under the E-mail box. Follow the prompts to create an account.
If you are a returning applicant, please enter your email and password and click Enter.
If you are a returning applicant but forgot your password, click Forgot Password? Click Here. Follow the instructions. You will receive a temporary password in your email. We recommend that you copy and paste the temporary password.

2. Next it will take you to the Verification of Eligibility page. Please answer the below requests accordingly:

Is the organization located in Wisconsin, Upper Michigan, or Iowa OR does the organization primarily assist residents of Wisconsin, Upper Michigan, or Iowa. YES
Applications must be submitted no later than 4 weeks prior to the START date of your company campaign. Is the event at least 4 weeks from today? YES
Select the type of in-kind donation (non-cash) you are seeking: United Way Workplace Campaign, then click “Submit”.

3. You will then be brought to the application page, please fill this out completely.
NOTE: To complete the donation request, you will also need the following United Way information:

4. Before you can submit the application, you will be required to attach a written request on your company's letterhead. Please be sure to include the start date (application must be submitted four weeks prior to this date) of your campaign in the written request. You can also attach a flyer or poster that advertises the event.

Please note, that you will not be able to submit your application without attaching the supporting documentation. If you do not have the supporting documentation, you can SAVE the request and finish it later.
If you SAVE your application to finish at a later time, you will receive an email saying that your application has been SAVED but NOT submitted.

Once your application has been successfully submitted, you will receive an email saying that your application has been successfully submitted.
