CAP Services - Mental Health Navigator
Mary, a retired individual, sought grief counseling after her husband's passing. Frustrated by the complexities of her health insurance, she diligently searched for counseling services using her insurance provider's network website, only to discover that the chosen mental health clinic didn't accept her insurance. Fortunately, they referred her to Mental Health Navigator.
The initial clinic quoted a cost of $160-$200 per session, a financial burden Mary couldn't bear alone. Despite this, her determination to take charge of her mental well-being led her to consider taking out a loan for counseling. Although not tech-savvy, Mary was open to learning electronic devices for telehealth. Her primary support system consisted of her children and her dog. Mary frequently took her dog on walks to cope with her grief but was reluctant to burden her grieving children.
Mary and Mental Health Navigator explored the UPLIFT WI peer support line, encouraging Mary to use it whenever needed. After sharing counseling resources, they scheduled a check-in for the following week. Mary informed Mental Health Navigator of her successful appointment booking with a local mental health office. Mary expressed gratitude for Mental Health Navigator's support on her journey toward healing.
